Lots of opportunities.

Dear friends and members of St. Matt’s,

In the coming weeks, there are a whole host of opportunities for you to worship, connect, learn, and celebrate. We have a particularly busy few weeks ahead – and that’s a good thing! This coming Sunday may be quiet because of the long weekend, but after that – please join in on the fun! There is more information in the e-news this week about everything I’m about to mention, but I want to just quickly highlight all the moving parts.

June 4th is Senior Sunday and our annual Parish Picnic!

On June 10th, we will participate in Wilton’s first Pride gathering! Find more information below about signing up to help us that day. Also on June 10th, you’re invited to the laying of our Witness Stone and the culmination of that wonderful project. Read on for information and join us for these two events on the 10th.

On the 11th, Bishop Jim Curry will be here. He has agreed to Confirm and Receive. If you’re interested in making your relationship with the Episcopal Church official, or if you’re curious about what that means, please send me a note. And please plan to stay after church that day for a demonstration with Bishop Curry. The Co-Founder of Swords to Plowshares, he’ll bring his forge and teach us to turn guns into garden tools. Thanks be to God!

And then, on a slightly more personal note, I’m planning to baptize our son on June 18th in the midst of our worship. And I hope you’ll join us that day for church and for a reception to follow. When we baptize Laine, I was grateful for this wonderful village that is St. Matt’s, for the place that makes all people and especially all children welcome. And as we prepare to baptize Luke, I am grateful again. I look forward to sharing that special day with you.

And this week is our last week with our wonderful Choir until they return in September. So, if you are in town this weekend, please join us on Sunday (5/28) to thank them and rejoice in their ministry.

Please take a careful look through the rest of the e-news. Mark your calendars. It’ll be a busy end to the program year – lots to do, lots of fun to have. I hope to see a lot of you over the next few weeks!

Faithfully,

–Marissa +
