Worship on the Fifth Sunday after the Epiphany: Sunday, February 5th, 2023.

Join us this Sunday, February 5th for Candlemas and Holy Eucharist in the sanctuary at 10am. Candlemas falls on February 2nd, and it’s the celebration of the feast of the Lord’s presentation in the Temple. We can think of it as the end of the arc of the Christmas story, the completion of that story line. When we celebrate Candlemas on Sunday, 2/5, you’re invited to bring your candles in from home. Like last year, we’ll bless these candles in our worship so that when you take them home and use them, they will remind you of the light of Christ. We’ll also bless some candles for us to light together at the end of the service. It’s a beautiful thing to celebrate together the light of Christ, which always shines in the darkness, before we enter into the season of Lent just a few weeks later. Join us for worship that day, bring your candles from home, and help us share the light together.
The service will livestream on our website and on Facebook. No matter who you are, no matter where you are on your journey with God, no matter what your story is, there is a place for you here at St. Matt’s.
