SAVE THE DATE: MONDAYS, JUNE 28th AND JULY 26th for LOVE IS THE WAY
The Renewal Works team at St. Matthew’s invites you to a “Parish-Read” of Bishop Michael Curry’s book, Love is the Way. Using our Pub Theology meeting style, we will gather at Marley's on Monday, June 28th at 7:00pm to discuss and share our understandings of this vital message for our time. The book is divided into 12 Chapters designed to answer questions-- Love’s Questions—and to encourage “a revival of love as the way to a liberating and life-giving relationship with God, with others, with all God’s creation on the planet we call Earth.”
Each chapter answers questions posed to Bishop Curry by people from all walks of life all over the world. If you heard Bishop Curry preach at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding, you know he understands “there is a universal hunger at the heart of every human being: to love and be loved.” And he knows that that Love can break down every barrier that prevents “the realization of God’s dream of the Beloved
Community.” The first session will cover Chapters 1-7 - from What Is This Thing Called Love to Leave No One Behind. The second session will discuss from Chapter 8, When the Spirit Reworks You to Chapter 12, Hope Help and Healing.
Come sip and munch and share learnings about Love that may expand your heart and deepen your loving actions in our world. Please join discussion leaders Vytas Kiselius and Beth Baker Fuller as we consider and contemplate how we might place our lives in God’s loving embrace and work to fulfill the call to Beloved Community. There are 15 free copies of the book in the Narthex (lobby) so everyone can have ready access. It is also available on Amazon for $17.99 and on Apple books in digital format for $1.99.
