Pageant Sunday
Dear friends and members of St. Matt’s,
We have a busy day coming on Sunday! Join us for worship at 10:00am and witness the silly, wonderful, joy of the Christmas Pageant. Stay afterwards for a festive and shared coffee hour and Christmas celebration with WPC. We’ll have some furry friends for you to meet in the courtyard! And there will be warm things to drink, snacks, and cake – and lots of fun to be had. I hope we’ll see you on Sunday.
Then, take a good look through the rest of the e-news this week. You’ll find information about Christmas, if you haven’t made note of it yet! There’s information about a special service on 12/21, the longest night. And a reminder of our Pajama Lessons and Carols on 12/31. This is always one of my favorite liturgies of the year – come comfortable, ready to share in joy. A busy and wonderful few weeks for us, for sure.
It was great to see so many of you in church on Sunday and before church for pancakes! Whether you joined us for breakfast or not, if you’ve already made a pledge to St. Matthew’s for the year 2024, please know of our sincere gratitude. You’ll hear from us individually, as you always do. Until then, know that we give thanks for your faithfulness and your generosity. Special thanks to those who gave in this last week, since Sunday! We appreciate you. If you haven’t had a chance to make your pledge yet, to give thanks for all the ways St. Matthew’s has been and continues to be present and important in your life, please consider making this pledge before Christmas. The Vestry and I will be meeting next week to set goals and make decisions about the coming year – and we need to hear from you.
I hope that you are finding little moments of light and joy. I pray that you are seeing the places where God is breaking in to the ordinary of your life. I hope you are making good plans to celebrate and give thanks in these next few weeks. If you need anything at all, please don’t hesitate to be in touch. Know that you continue to be in my prayers. And I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
Faithfully,
–Marissa +
