On the third day of Christmas...
Dear friends & members of St. Matt's,
Merry Christmas! I hope that you are finding ways to keep this season of Christmas - to connect, remember, and give thanks. We often think of Christmas as just one day, or maybe a day and a half (depending on when you go to church on Christmas Eve!), when Christmas really is a season. For 12 whole days, we are invited to celebrate the birth of a child who comes to show us the way. For 12 days, we are encouraged to marvel, to rest and to wonder. How will you keep this Christmas feast?
Today, a short e-news with a few opportunities to connect and celebrate in these next days. Snap a picture of the #joy you're finding in this season and share it with the wider St. Matt's community (details below). Join us on Sunday (12/29) for Pajama Lessons and Carols: we'll sing some favorite Christmas carols and hear again the story of Jesus' birth - then share some hot cocoa and cookies! Please note - there is just one service this week and it's at 9:00am. And save the date for our first Burning of the Greens on Epiphany (1/5). And if you're thinking about - but haven't RSVP'd for the women's retreat in MA - this is a good week to send me a note.
I hope that we'll see you on Sunday for Lessons and Carols. And I pray that you are keeping this Christmas close, holding on to the miracle of God's love for you and for the world around you. May you know and reflect the warmth and the joy of God's love.
Faithfully,
--Marissa +
