Food Drive for NCC
St. Matt’s Mission Team is partnering with Norwalk Community College and other ECCT parishes for the reopening of The Pantry @ NCC--which averages an estimated 1,000 visits each month. The Pantry seeks to alleviate the barriers and challenges associated with hunger and food insecurity among students, ensuring they can remain in school, and ultimately, earn their degrees. The Pantry (which was created in 2015) is looking to be back up and running after being closed for several months due to COVID-19. Before we know it, students will be back on campus and ready for the Fall semester; so let’s do all we can to be sure hungry minds (and bodies) are fed. We're grateful to Don our his work connecting us to this ministry and to our larger region in ECCT. It will be good to be part of God's mission together!
St. Matt’s will be having a safe and appropriately-distanced food drive to benefit the Pantry at NCC. Any of the below items can be dropped off in the labeled bin by the side door of the St. Matt’s Narthex (at the circle to your left when you first drive in our driveway.)
The food drive will run from Wednesday August 12 – Wednesday August 26. Then the collected items will be delivered to the Pantry at NCC.
