End of August
Dear friends and members of St. Matt's,
Last night, a rather large group of us gathered with Andrew to celebrate our hymnal's birthday. We sang a number of favorites and Andrew taught us a few new things about this wonderful hymnal we have. It was a beautiful evening - I'm so grateful to everyone who came. What a gift to raise our voices in song - to praise with our utmost art - together. And how beautiful a thing that, in the midst of the chaos and busy-ness of this world, a group came together to do just that, as the sunset, with little lights so we could continue to sing in the dark. A beautiful evening. Thank you, Andrew! I give thanks for the beauty of our time together last night and the goodness of this place.
Please remember that this week we're worshipping again with WPC in their sanctuary at 10am. If you're tuning in from home, you'll be able to find the link to WPC's YouTube channel in this edition of the e-news as well as on Facebook and our website. Please join us for worship.
As we begin to gear up for the fall, please keep an eye on our e-news. There are already many new opportunities for worship and connection popping up. And we hope especially that you'll join us on 9/18 for our Fall Kickoff. For us in worship, that will be St. Matthew's Day. And afterwards we'll join with WPC for a big, festive, fun kickoff of the program year. You won't want to miss out on the pizza or the fun. So, come join us and bring some folks along with you. All are welcome.
I will be out of the office for the next week and a half or so. I hope that you, too, will find some time for rest in the next few weeks before the fall is upon us. You will all be in my prayers and I will look forward to seeing you after Labor Day. Until then, God bless you and keep you.
Faithfully,
--Marissa +
