Easter Joy

Dear friends and members of St. Matt’s,

Happy Easter! I hope that you are experiencing all the joys of the season! We had such a glorious celebration on Sunday. Thanks to so many of you for sharing in it! It was a beautiful day and I’m still enjoying the memories of it. That’s what Easter week is for! To revel in the beginning of this season. Keep in mind that this season of Easter is 50 days long – and our focus in this season is joy. How can you make room for joy today? This week? In this season?

I want to thank everyone who played a role in making Holy Week and Easter so full of meaning. The staff worked very hard preparing, planning, and supporting. The Altar Guild and Flower Guild made the space beautiful for us. The choir was magnificent day after day. We had lay leaders, ushers, lectors and Eucharistic Ministers who came to help and lead. The Vestry planned a wonderful Coffee Hour. And our kids enjoyed a really lovely Easter Egg Hunt. So, it was a very good day all around! Thank you to everyone who helped and to all of you who came to celebrate.

We have another big week coming up on Sunday as Bishop Laura will be here to Confirm four of our young people and receive one of our newer members. Please come and celebrate this wonderful day as these folks renew their commitment to Jesus and his way of love. As ever, there will be cake! All we need is for you to come and join us and lift your voice to share in the joy.

We have a beautiful, joyful season ahead. Beginning with a concert tomorrow night – and ending the month with the screening of the Philadelphia 11 Documentary on 4/28. Please take a careful look through our e-news and keep an eye on our socials so you can join in on all the fun!

This is a season for joy. Let’s find ways to connect and share the joys in our life, the joy of our faith, the joy of Christ.

Faithfully,

–Marissa +
