Auction Weekend 2023

Dear friends and members of St. Matt’s,

This weekend, the Episcopal Church in Connecticut will gather for our 239th Convention. If you’re interested in reading about Convention and the work ahead of us, you can find all that information here. Your elected delegates are Pam Ely and Sharon Pearson. We’ll be spending the large part of Friday and Saturday in Hartford with Episcopalians from all over the state. And then, of course, there’s an auction Saturday night!

If you haven’t bought your tickets for the auction yet, it’s not too late. You can do that here. There are some great items up for auction and there will be some really wonderful food from all over the world. Buy your tickets and join in on the fun! A lot of folks have worked really hard to bring this night into being – so do come and enjoy the time with us beginning at 6:30pm.

This week, the 29th, worship continues on Sunday as usual. Next week, we’ll have a bit of another busy weekend! Canon Ranjit, the new Canon to the Ordinary will be here on 11/5 to preach and join in conversation with us after worship. That’s also the first Sunday of the month, so there will be Godly play for kids K-5ish and everyone else will stay in church. And there will be a big cookie decorating & fun trip to New Haven for Confirmands and Youth to be a part of the 50th anniversary of Chapel on the Green.

There’s lots more ahead of us, too. Including another concert in the Arts at St. Matthew’s series and then coming of Advent and Christmas. Stay tuned for more fun.

Please keep in mind that if you’re coming to the building, we’ve entered a new phase with access and security. Give the office a call or send me a note before you come over so that we can be sure someone will be here to let you in. You are very welcome – and we love when you’re here. The reality is, though, that we aren’t here all the time anymore. So, just check in before you drive over so we can make sure that we can make you welcome. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to be in touch.

I look forward to seeing you on Saturday night AND Sunday morning. Until then, you are in my prayers. God loves you. And so do I.

Faithfully,

–Marissa +
