An Invitation to Senior Sunday
Dear friends and members of St. Matt's,
On Sunday (5/24), we will continue the tradition of recognizing the Seniors graduating from high school. While we can't gather in person as we normally would, we have planned a service that incorporates their gifts and talents - and we've invited all our Seniors to be recognized and prayed for. In fact, each of them will get a special package from St. Matt's on Friday to help with this special service. Join us virtually on Sunday morning as we celebrate the achievements of these kind, bright young people who are about to begin a new journey.
As a preview, the image that you see here is the work of Emma Famous. Our preacher for the day will be Sophie Sudano. And there are a number of other brave Seniors who have volunteered to help lead worship. I'm glad of their courage - this is definitely not church as we're all used to! And I'm glad that we will still have the chance to celebrate with all our Seniors. Seniors who are tuning in virtually are invited to dress up with their families, to participate in the liturgy, and receive the prayers and blessings of the congregation that helped to raise them.
One of the great gifts of St. Matt's is that you have always been so invested in loving and forming your younger members. You've always known, long before we knew each other, that raising up gifted, faithful, service-oriented, kind people was the hope of the future. And it still is. The hope of so many will depend on the bright futures and new ideas of this generation, and the hope that they will choose love above all else. Join us on Sunday morning at 10:00am as we celebrate the achievements of this graduating class and pray blessings on them as they make their way into the future.
Faithfully,
