Pastoral Care
As Christians, we are called to journey with each other through the trials and celebrations of life. We believe that whenever two or three are gathered, Jesus is present among us. And it is a gift to us to share important moments with our fellow parishioners. The Pastoral Care Team at St. Matt’s assists the Rector with special attention and care when it is needed. This could be for a variety of reasons and take a variety of shapes. Most often, the Pastoral Care Team assists with home visits and helps plan extended care, working with the Hospitality team, for those who may be homebound, a parishioner who may need end of life care, or a family that needs support in a difficult time. Members of the Team are trained in Safe Church, active listening, and a number of other pastoral skills. In the coming months, some members of the Pastoral Care Team will be licensed as Eucharistic Ministers and will assist the clergy in bringing Holy Communion to those who are not able to be with us on Sunday morning due to sickness or difficult situations.
If you are in need of this ministry or called to serve it, please reach out to the Rector – [email protected].
