September begins!
Dear friends and members of St. Matt’s,
I can’t believe that I’m writing to you on the last day of August. We have so much planned for you – and we’ll roll it all out slowly in the coming weeks. So please keep an eye on our socials, website, and this e-news so that you have all the information you need.
One important thing to note today: We will not be live-streaming the service this Sunday (9/3). We are transitioning to a new way of streaming – so there will be new instructions for you next week on how to worship with us from home. We spent a lot of time this summer researching and experimenting. Stay tuned for a new way to connect next week – and come to church and physically join us if you’re in town this week!
Bring bags, backpacks, briefcases, lunchboxes – anything you’d like – that you or your kids take to work or school with you – bring them to church on Sunday 9/10. At the end of worship, we’ll ask for God’s blessing on you and on those bags you take with you regularly. That’s not this week – but next week – the 10th of September.
And then! Make sure you’re planning to be here on the 17th for our big program year kickoff! We look forward to welcoming you home from your travels and digging into another exciting year at St. Matt’s. We’ll celebrate St. Matthew’s Day in worship on the 17th – and give thanks for the story of our patron saint. And we’ll share a festive kickoff celebration with WPC after worship which will include a bouncy house for the kids and lunch & ice cream from the Seaside Sliders food truck. You won’t want to miss that wonderful beginning to our year! And neither will any of the kids in your life! Bring your friends and family with you. All are welcome.
I wish you all a wonderful long weekend. I hope you can take a deep breath and enjoy the end of this season, the last little precious bits of summer…even though it already feels like we’re starting to run! And I hope to see you (in person) on Sunday if you’re in town. (And live again online on 9/10). Until then, God loves you. And so do I.
Faithfully,
–Marissa +
