Pedals, Pipes, Pizza and Orgel Kids

Saturday, February 1, 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM

On Saturday, February 1st, 2025 the Greater Bridgeport Chapter and Fairfield West Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will be hosting “Pedals, Pipes, Pizza & Orgel Kids” at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 36 New Canaan Road, Wilton, CT 06897, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

This event is for children ages 10 and above who are currently taking music lessons and would like to learn about the organ. This is a fun event where everyone gets to learn about and play the TWO organs (bring your piano music!) Participants will get an opportunity to build a small pipe organ that we then can play! Students also get an opportunity to play the church’s sanctuary organ too.

RSVP to Eventbrite Link before Wednesday January  29, 2025.

ORGAN DEMO

Unleash the Power of the Pipes: A Fun and Educational Organ Experience!

Get ready to be captivated by the majestic sounds of the organ! Our interactive demonstration will take you on a journey through the instrument’s intricacies, from its powerful pipes to its delicate controls.

Discover the differences between organs and pianos, explore the vast range of sounds the organ can produce, and even get a chance to play a few notes yourself.

Children are empowered to discover how the organ is constructed and how it works by building it. The participants will be challenged to discover and to ask technical questions about the construction. And, of course, when the organ is built, they will be able to play music on it. For more information on the OrgelKids program, reference – https://youtu.be/tYSboJdZKXc and http://www.orgelkids.org
