Message From Marissa, June 6th
Dear Friends,
This week we begin a new season of the church year and a new season in our life together. This week marks the first full year of our time together as partners in ministry. Can you believe that? It's been a whole year since we started this journey together (just look at those kids in that picture from my first day last year!). I'll confess that it's a little hard for me to believe - how quickly it's gone! And, even so, I'm keenly aware of all the work we've done, all the good fun we've shared, and the many new projects and dreams we've started to set in motion.
I want you to know that I'm so grateful for this year. I am proud of our start and of the relationships that we're building inside and outside our walls. And I'm grateful for all that we've begun, all that we've created, and for all that is to come. Thank you for being the bright, gifted, welcoming people you are and for making this feel like home so quickly. There is so much more to do, many more of you I'd like to know better, and so much more fun ahead of us - and I am looking forward to all that God has in store for us.
This weekend, as we mark the feast of Pentecost and the coming of the Holy Spirit (don't forget to wear your red on Sunday!), we'll also celebrate the Confirmation of 23 of our kids! We'll have a festive coffee hour on Sunday (with cake to celebrate the Confirmands!). And there's quite a lot more to do and be a part of at St. Matt's. And stay tuned for some announcements about ways to be connected over the summer even if you're not in Wilton!
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday as we continue our journey together. God loves you, and so do I.
Faithfully,
--Marissa +
