Good news & invitations.
Dear friends and members of St. Matt's,
I write today with a few invitations and a bit of good news. Let's start with the good news!
I'm delighted to share with you that Scott Ellaway will stay on with us at St. Matt's as Artist in Residence until Easter of 2021. Since December when Scott joined us, he has supported and strengthened our commitment to the ministry of music. He is forming meaningful relationships across the life of the parish and has given wonderful leadership to our Adult Choir. In the last few weeks, as we've shifted online, Scott has been an important part of our team. Already well versed in the virtual world, Scott has helped to plan and conceive of worship as well as teach and rehearse our children and adults online. As you know, Scott brings with him a great many other gifts as well. This extension is an opportunity for Scott to share with us his other talents and passions. Scott already has a number of exciting plans in the works, so stay tuned for opportunities to learn from and engage with music ministries at St. Matt's - even while we're virtual!
You know already that I think we share a special communion at St. Matt's, and that I believe God is stretching out a path before us that is full of meaning, faith, and love. I'm glad that as we make our way into our third year together, Scott will share this road with us for a while longer. I look forward to the ministry and the music we'll share. And I hope that you'll continue to welcome and care for him as we all participate in God's work together.
Speaking of God's work, take a look through the rest of this email for information about our livestream tomorrow and events coming up in the next few days. Last week, Zoom struggled with the pressure of so many churches worshipping at the same time - but they've assured us this week that they've addressed the problem and all will be well on Sunday. That certainly is my hope - so that we can pray and worship together.
We have so much coming up in the next few weeks, especially as Holy Week arrives. Just take a look at the end of the bulletin for tomorrow morning.
Please be in touch if you need anything. And know that you're in my prayers.
