Confirmation Session 1 Re-cap: October 1st, 2019
After each confirmation session, we will be posting a re-cap about our activities and "theme" of the class in order for you to continue the conversation at home, in the car, in-between running here and there. We had fun getting to know your kids a little more and look forward to developing some faithful relationships as a group. This is what Jennifer and Sharon did with the kids:
- Introductions and an icebreaker game
- Reflecting on the experience many of us had at Chapel on the Green in New Haven on Sunday, September 29
- Describing ourselves with a particular color paint chip (sunshine yellow, mysterious indigo, coral blue) , then doing the same to share how we think of God (labyrinth green, calm water azure, yesterday and today)
- Reading the parable of the Good Samaritan and acting it out as a modern parable; then talking about “who is our neighbor?
Our next session is Sunday, October 22 from 6:00-7:30pm. We will be talking about what Confirmation is, the role of mentors, and our Baptismal Covenant. This is an important session to attend before they are invited to “sign the book” alongside their new mentors at the 10:00am service on November 3.
Samantha, Jennifer, Sharon, and Marissa
