A Prayer Walk for Memorial Day
Dear friends and members of St. Matt's,
Lyn and I moved to Wilton just before Memorial Day two years ago. And one of the first places we met you was at the Memorial Day parade. They're happy memories for us. This week, I was talking with Chris Perry - who mentioned that he was going to find some way to walk the parade route on Monday anyway. And then, I listened to Don reflect at Compline on the idea of a prayer walk, our ability as Christians to wrap our town in prayer.
Combining both those ideas, I offer you this - a special prayer walk for Memorial Day. You don't need to go downtown and walk the parade route (but if you do, please be careful and stay at a safe distance). You can just walk around your neighborhood in Wilton, Norwalk, New Canaan, Weston, Ridgefield, or wherever you live. And as you do, let this call your attention to the things around you. You might consider it a prayer scavenger hunt of sorts. It could be something you do on your own, or something you share with family and kids. Click here to download a big copy so that you can print it out and take it with you. You might even take Flat Matt along with you and send in some pictures letting us know what you and he are praying for.
Join us as we wrap our communities in prayer. God bless you and keep you.
Faithfully,
--Marissa +
