2019 Christmas Pageant Thank You & Re-cap
To Parents and Families of The Pageant Cast,
How did we get here? Less than 10 days away from Christmas! Time is flying and we are entering the part of the holiday season where its increasingly more difficult to remain present. Our minds shuffle through to do lists in the background, while we morph into "human doings", missing the magic of interaction with the "human beings" right in front of us.
For me, being a part of the St. Matthews Christmas Pageant Team brought the reason for the season into focus. Reading through the Nativity Story, seeing the children of the parish bring life and light to each role, felt like a peek behind the curtain of heaven. The innocence, purity and genuine wonder children carry in their hearts, is a gift to all that encounter it.
Christy, Amy and I want to extend a huge thank you to each and every one of you for "sharing your children with us" in the hustle bustle that is December. Thank you for being united with us in believing that the pageant plays an important role on the journey that is spiritual growth.
Jesus said in Luke 18:16, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
May we all pause this season, and approach Jesus with the faith and wonder of little children. Thank you again for allowing the entire St. Matthews parish to glean from the "little children" that are yours.
Grace and Peace,
The Christmas Pageant Crew
Christy O'Sullivan, Amy Gubner and Samantha Trolice
