Worship at St. Matthew's

“Where two or three are gathered in my name, I will be in the midst of them.”

Wherever you are on your faith journey, you are welcome at Saint Matthew’s.

Members of our community have described St. Matthew's as: “Joyful . . . Spiritual . . . Inviting . . . Warm . . . Uplifting Music . . . Community . . . Caring . . . Laughter . . . Outreach . . . Christ-centered . . . Belonging . . . Friendship.”

Our 8:00 a.m. Sunday Eucharist is a quiet, reflective and spoken service where all are invited to gather around the altar in an intimate setting for Holy Communion.

Our 10:00 a.m. Sunday Eucharist provides beautiful music and Holy Communion. Children begin worship with their family, then adjorn to attend our outstanding Church School. They return to receive communion with their families mid-way through the service. Nursery care for birth-preschool is available throughout the morning.

St. Matthew’s now has one of the premier organs throughout Fairfield County with four magnificent choirs that together and separately provide glorious music during our services. Our services involve as many parishioners as possible who serve as Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs), Acolytes, Choir Members, Ushers, Greeters, Scripture Readers, Intercessors (prayer leaders), Altar Guild, and bread bakers. We encourage everyone- even our young people – to participate in these ministries.

On Wednesdays, we offer a midweek Eucharist at 11:00 a.m. which includes a homily on the saint of the day or other special feasts. This is offered in the church library.
