The Rev. John A. Satula grew up in Larchmont, NY about 45 minutes from Wilton. After graduating from Elmira College in 2002 located in upstate NY with a BA in Theatre, he served on the Rector’s staff at Grace Church, Elmira, discerning his call to Ordained ministry. In the Fall of 2003, he began attending The General Theological Seminary located in Chelsea, on the lower West Side of Manhattan. He graduated with his Master of Divinity in 2006 and then decided to do another year of study at the Divinity School of Duke University. While at Duke he concentrated on Church History, particularly Early Christian Baptism and the rites and rituals associated with the Sacrament. He wrote his Thesis, entitled: The Mark of God as Represented by the Post-Baptismal Anointing in the Early and Contemporary Church, on the ritual of anointing at baptism. He also studied the history and theology of the Reformation, both on the European Continent and in England. He received a Master of Theology in 2007. John is currently a Deacon and expects to be Ordained to the Priesthood sometime this Fall.
