St. Matt's has Pride!
June is Pride month - and St. Matt's will show up with pride in a number of ways this year. Read on to sign up!
First! We've been asked to host a table at Wilton Pride again this year! This is the second year of Wilton having its own Pride festival - and we are excited to be a part of it. We will need help with set up, clean up, and spending time at the table! Click here to use the sign up genius, let us know when you can come help! We were the only church with a table at Pride last year - so let's make another strong showing this year! June 1st, shifts from 10am-2pm. Table location TBD!
Second! Rev. Marissa needs the help of some youth to help paint a pride crosswalk at the library! We'll meet at the library on May 19th at 5pm and help paint those rainbow colors that offer welcome and the hope of safety to LGBTQIA+ people. It might seem like just a crosswalk, but it's a whole lot more than that. If you have a young person who would like to be a part of this, send Rev. Marissa a note.
Third! We will be "adopting a shop" like we did last year - and decorating a front shop or restaurant window for the month of June. If you have an eye for decorating, if you love color, if you like to hang things, or if you just have hands and want to help, send Rev. Marissa a note. We need your eye and your hands!
Pride Month commemorates years of struggle for civil rights and the ongoing pursuit of equal justice for LGBTQIA+ people. It's important for us as a Christian community to show up and stand with our LGBTQIA+ friends and neighbors, especially now as they face rising resistance and vitriol. Let's show our love for the community throughout the month of June!
